Our Beautiful Canyons!!!

Brent came home for lunch the other day, and it was such a beautiful day, that we decided to take an afternoon drive to the canyon to see the colors changing. We weren't disappointed!!! The colors were almost fluorescent and when the sun shone on the leaves, it was just amazing. These pictures are from Little Cottonwood Canyon. I love living so close to the canyons that we can take a little time from our day and be able to enjoy something so beautiful in such a little bit of time.

Grace's Day with Grandpa and Grandma!

Now that Alexa is in Kindergarten, Grace has a lot of time to play by herself. That isn't always bad, but sometimes it's fun to have one on one time with Grandpa and Grandma! We took Grace to feed the ducks and she had a great time feeding the "Daddy, Mommy and baby ducks". We brought hot dog buns to feed them, and Grace has a pretty good arm throwing lunch to the ducks. There were goats across the creek, and it was fun watching them eat the food Grandpa threw over to them. After feeding the ducks, we figured it was time to feed ourselves! We brought lunch home, and Grace and Grandpa finished our fun little outing of with a game of "princess".

Golf Get Away at Bear Lake!

So, I'm not such a great golfer, but Brent and I had a great time at Bear Lake! We stayed in Logan, and went golfing at a really nice course. The lessons we took 2 years ago didn't do me much good this weekend, but I had a great time driving the cart! The next day we went to Bear Lake and golfed there. The course is up on a hill with a beautiful view of the Lake in the distance. Big surprise who won that day too! It was a wonderful little get away!

Alexa's First Day of Kindergarten!

Here we are, Tuesday, August 26th and it was Alexa's first day of Kindergarten! Wow how five years have gone so fast. She was so excited to go that she ran into the house and ran up to Grandpa with the biggest, excited smile you can imagine. By the time she got to the rest of us, she couldn't even keep her feet on the ground for 10 seconds she was jumping up and down so much! Couldn't have been any cuter!!!

Mac and Cheese at Grandmas

My nieces came to spend the night with my parents, and as always grandma had a fun project for them to work on. They made book marks with flowers that my mom pressed last year. She also made her famous macaroni and cheese which all of the grand kids LOVE! Luckily we got an invite to join them for lunch! Laurel, Katie, Julianne, and Jade had fun catching up on things while Grandma and I sat on the bench swing and enjoyed our Lunch!!!

Walk to Cure Diabetes!

We had a great time this Saturday, August 23rd at Wheeler Farm doing our annual Walk to Cure Diabetes! It seems that every year there are more and more people who participate in this fun event! Thank you so much to everyone who donated their time to walk, and to those who generously donated money to our team! Poor Brent got two bee stings before we even got started, but he was tough! They got us warmed up for the walk with Suzanne, Marianne and Sarah doing the chicken dance while Grandpa and Adelle played! Little Grace was as always a little trooper and wanted to hold Grandmas hand while we walked! Adelle started the walk wide awake . . . but with Suzanne's magic touch, she fell sound asleep in her arms while walking! The weather was just starting to get hot, but for the most part it wasn't too bad. After the walk, we ate some sack lunches, and headed home. Thanks again to the "Lorianne Robertson Family Team of 2008" . . . Suzanne, Julianne, Lorianne, Peter, Daniel, Jade, Tasia, Sarah, Phil, Marianne, Grace and Adelle!

Walk To Cure Diabetes - Open Invitation to Join Our Team!

It's walk time again, and we are excited to once again be involved in this wonderful event! Taking part in the Walk is a great experience. Not only will you be making a real difference in helping to find a cure that will change the lives of millions... you'll be having FUN, and getting a good workout too!

First, let us tell you a little about why this cause is so important to our family. Most of you already know that our daughter Lorianne was diagonosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was 11. We participate every year in this wonderful fundraiser to raise money to find a cure for Lorianne as well as millions of others battling this disease every day. Every year, more than 30,000 new cases of type 1 diabetes--the most severe form of the disease--are diagnosed in the United State alone, a large and growing percentage of them children. Day-to-day living is a challenge for people with type 1 diabetes--and multiple insulin injections are only the beginning. But what's even harder is facing the reality of the devastating complications that can stem from their condition.
As you can imagine, it's easy for people with type 1 diabetes to feel that their future is uncertain. But thanks to research funded by organizations such as JDRF, people with diabetes have a new sense of hope. Scientists have made enormous progress, and a cure for type 1 diabetes is now within reach. That's why this is such a crucial time, and why we're inviting all of our family and friends to join us in walking with our team, "The Lorianne Robertson Family Team" to raise money that will speed these scientists toward that cure. Every walker, and every dollar, brings us that much closer.
So please, come join me for this very special day... and a chance to make a real difference! If you can't join us for the walk, but would like to donate any money towards reaching our team goal, please contact me at tabu16@comcast.net, and I will let you know where to send your donation!!!
We'll be walking at Wheeler Farm, Tri-County, UT on August 23, 2008. You can find out more and sign up at: http://walk.jdrf.org/walker.cfm?id=87048528. Thank you so much in advance for any way you can help us to make this a successful walk for our team this year!!!

Grandma's Private Showing!

I got a phone call the other morning. It was Alexa wanting to know if she could come over to our house so we could play "dogs" together. Alexa knows I love to play with her and Grace and Adelle (when she lets me), so of course I said yes. I ended up being Dopey (go figure), she was the Jaguar, and there was a giant dog the kept smashing us. Finally, our magic carpet flew in and we were saved!!! We watched a video (grandma fell asleep while Alexa brought the container of brown sugar and a spoon from the kitchen into the bedroom where we were watching the movie), then we got the video camera, and I was in for a real treat with singing and dancing (notice the video where she is dancing, I'm pretty sure the brown sugar kicked in!)

Alexa's 5th Birthday!

We had a great time celebrating Alexa's 5th birthday on Saturday, July 19th, with a beach theme in our back yard. Alexa's Great-Grandpa and Grandma Mallonee, and Great-Grandpa and Grandma Robertson were able to come. Greg, Michelle and Sam were there, as well as Kayleigh and Shayla Biehn. Her aunts Suzanne, Lorianne and Julianne, and Brent and I were there as well as her family Phil, Marianne, Grace and Adelle were all there to celebrate Alexa's big day! The kids hit a pinata, went swimming, ate nachos and cheese, cupcakes and ice cream. Alexa got some great presents, and was also pretty excited to get her Disney Princess Scooter. We sure love Alexa, and love having her next door so she can "hang out" with us whenever she wants! HAPPY BIRTHDAY SWEETHEART!
